You cant stream that epic "EarthFilght" PBS docu up in Canada? Thats really shitty, you might be able to Netflix, Youtube has for 1.50 but the previews are even spectacular:

Not just from the camera's mounted on the backs of ducks, geese even eagles, it really covers all the routes migrating birds take, but its a whole lot more than just birds flying. You get drawn into the story of evolution like no other taking in the interactions between birds & other animals, the amazing balance of energy expenditure, the mechanics of a migration & how dangerous it is. They definitely have to eat along the way, the balance between migration based on food availablity but also nesting safety, the beautiful Flamingo mating dances that might happen only once in 5yrs when they feel "optimum".

Egrets & seagulls love it when the Dolphins are strand-feeding, is it a material world on how to get food in your belly? Well everyone should try it without some food time, this shows some of that species interaction about 1min in. ( Going hungry or trying not to get eaten, will force some changes, will certainly appear designed)
