They can looks at the files on your computer? You have to give them the password? And your camera and usb drives. Basically, they can demand to see anything they want. Thinking of leaving for good? Be prepared. Last i checked the most you could bring out of the country was $600,000. The government will 'tax' the rest of it. And it aint small. They are slowly trapping us here. We aren't really that free to leave anymore. The borders used to be open crossing into Mexico and Canada. Now they are experimenting with questioning you as you LEAVE the country. They aren't getting many objections so it will increase. We are becoming like East Germany. Soon you will have to show your papers to leave the country. Again, we aren't free. Want to renounce? The form used to be free and no one used to want it, because US citizenship used to be prized and valued. Now the form costs $500 dollars. Can't afford to renounce? Too bad. The form used to be just to make sure the government had a record of your renouncement. But that's changed. Now they make rules for renouncement. You can no longer bring all that you've earned with you. If you have millions in the form of a small business, the government will take most of it by declaring its value and forcing you to pay the tax on their perceived value, even if you couldn't possibly get what they say your business is worth. The government wants to keep you here to tax you all your life, and then even after you die.
