Re: "Some of the analysis regarding UTEK that appears on this thread
is good. But at times their are glaring holes in the analysis that
are big enough to drive a truck through.
The biggest right now is the negative tone regarding E-Beam and
P-Gild products during calendar year 1998."

Don: Glad to see you are behind the wheel again and driving hard <g>. Forgetting for a moment that analysis cannot be faulty because it carries negative tonal qualities and keeping in mind that it can be tough to read and drive a truck at the same time, the only person that matters that seems to be negative (he is "concerned") about UTEK or the industry at the moment is Art Z. That is enough to cause me concern.

My response to Bob as it pertains to P-Gild and E-Beam if looked at in context was merely to show that we have no clue as to what Art was referring to when he made his statements about "softening" in demand and being "concerned" about the "(business) plan." My point was that his statement could incorporate anything be it P-Gild and/or E-Beam (however unlikely) or anything else as it stood and that a reasonable investor would not jump to any conclusions but would venture to ask more questions.

I have stated that I have no opinion on his statements but state that they need to be investigated. There is no speculation on my part except that his comments could mean anything as they stand. You have speculated based upon "underground" sources that Art was caught up in the negativity of the moment. We all appreciate your input and maybe you are right. I don't see anything wrong with checking with the company on what he was referring to even if was not P-Gild or E-beam. Do you?

With respect to your comments on P-Gild and Ultrabeam, since I believe I was the one on this thread who initially reported that there was the potential for 6 (could be 8) Ultrabeam units for 1998 (see post #1442) and my information is in line with your expectations for P-Gild at 6 units for 1998 (maybe 8), I certainly won't argue with myself. But it does not take a genius to figure out that UTEK is much more than P-Gild and E-Beam at the moment and a drop in the other business prospects whether Asia related or not is an area of concern given Art's comments.( What "softening" is Art talking about?) It also doesn't take a genius to listen to the last conference call and hear Art state that there could be installation problems and software glitches with Ultrabeam when it is initially installed at the customer site. It doesn't take a genius to hear Art say in the conference call that it is too early right now to gauge the revenue contribution from Verdant and Ultrabeam (despite what we may think), although he suggested it could be between 20m and 40m for 1998. Finally, it does not take a genius to figure out that answers could be telephone call away. That is why I put the call in yesterday to UTEK.

Now you may well treat this information as negative. But I am a realist and when Art Z says something I will tend to listen. I would be suprised to learn that you thought otherwise.
