JF, I've been lurking on this thread fo a few hours tonight... lots to do but have the flu.... all I can figure is that everyone is learning something about our Ms Chris getting her feet wet in real "if cyber is real" relationships. Seems not everyone is impressed with a stock haver (unlike a stock picker).... Oh well, Christine, most of your critics don't truly understand your level of God-like elitism... but nevermind them... (I like dot's better than commas)... their heads are up their #$%$# with practical issues like earning a living.

Maybe the next time I lurk, I'll try a Martha Stewart thread...

"Christine, you should spend less time worrying about how others may offend
people, even though we lesser mortals do hope to achieve the heights of moral
perfection which you graciously demonstrate for our edification."

Sorry, Freddy, I somehow missed this one is my rush to display my sterling mastery of American history, child development and gun control, all in one morning, while I juggle a calendar of application, testing and visit dates for the twelve schools my daughter is applying to, and try to think up a logical explanation of how I totally crumbled the right side rear view mirror against a fence post in one of those tiny, cramped PUBLIC school parking lots as I was backing up, stupidly, I might add. I am laughing when I type that stuff about mastery, incidentally--I think there are a lot of very smart and well-informed and well-researched posts here, and I just like to be one in a crowd of provocative opinions. One thing I have never achieved, though, is moral perfection, as you WELL know, and I am sure you are being sarcastic when you refer to my gracious demonstration. But since I did start this thread, I think I have some responsibility to keep it mainstream enough so that it is not totally overrun by the voices of the conservative right, and also that it does not violate or offend the personal dignity of someone who may be black.

The purpose of the Feelings thread is not to hurt people's feelings just because of the color of their skin, or their social class for that matter. From some of the comments that have been made here, and not just by you, there seems to be a subtle subculture where slavery is somehow acceptable social policy. I just took exception to that.
