tim, delta airlines is better served by thin client...
didn't you know this???????
but, I get your point.
if you are buying 300 million worth....cpq or hp will match the price......
did i tell you how on low volume a month I get 6 cents a minute on long distance...... there are huge corps that pay more than that.
when I started working at this corp,,,they had 14 cents a minute
and they thought they we doing good,
Long distance bill was $10,000 a month and now it's $4000.
i didn't change compnaies either..I just kept bidding and working on it til they lowered their price.
That's 6000 a month differnce.
Then I got sbc to lower the local phone by $2000.
So, with the 8000 a month lower in telecom expenses I was about to spend almost 300k in capital on servers, software, and pcs w/o raising my MIS budget.
