NO.....THEY HAVE PLANNED FOR THE INVENTORY. most the price reductions in 4q97 have been paid for already. they'll do some of that in 4q too... The real issue is cpq hires financial planners that are second to none. They guys simulate the inventory model and then can show the sales in the present qtr with discounts theyhave have to perform to actually follow though the channel. Well a commercial is on for the "granddaddy stones" on TV. I think cpq ws smart to position a great box at 1100.
