Bentway, Dave, there WEREN'T any "*top* scientists" when people believed that. Fixed. There have been scientists all throughout human history. Of course, there was no such thing as a "consensus of top scientists" back then. Come to think of it, there is no "consensus of top scientists" today, either. The only time modern science ever reaches a "consensus" is when a theory becomes a law. Global warming is still a theory. Even now it's subject to revisions and debate. Tenchusatsu
