What heat did they take in 1996? I know the talking heads claim that but did the Republicans lose control of the House and Senate in 96 or 98?

We have elections coming up with people hating Obamacare and they'll hate it more as people have bad experiences with the trainwreck. And the Democrats own it. Plus the Democrats are going into the elections pushing gun control which will hurt Dems in non urban areas.

The other day I asked people on two threads to tell what horrors they experienced from the shutdown in the 90's. I got no responses of any substantive negatives. Why don't you tell me how the shutdown in 96 hurt you or someone you know?

I wasn't affected, don't know anyone who was, and think most people didn't even notice.

The Republicans will take the HEAT on this, just like they did in 1996 if they screw it up...
OMG! NO! no, no...Don't tell me that the republicans are going to get blamed for something that was fundamentally the fault of the democrats....AGAIN!?!?

We simply can't let that happen. We have no choice but to do what the democrats want us to do. If republicans just do what the democrats tell us to do everything will be just fine for the republicans again. We'll start winning elections again and the congress will stop passing these poison pill laws/policies that are going to fundamentally destro...errr, I mean "change", this country.
