Haven't been posting as we've been on the road with camper. We landed at a location with decent wifi, and I can at least work with a decent sized keyboard.

Padre Island is really broken into two distinctly different locations…North and South. North is near Corpus, and South is Port Isabel.

South Padre is where you want to go if you want to experience the warmer weather in the winter, and enjoy more of what Padre is all about. North Padre is limited in amenities, shopping and such.

South Padre is near the Mexican border, if that rings your bell.

When we lived in Dallas, we seldom visited the north part of the island.

While we haven't been to S Padre in years, I'm sure the same holds true today.

My friends that RV near Sarasota make reservations for
the following year, as they leave this year.

There is or was a small ocean front campground just S of Sarasota. I think it was on an island but don't recall exactly. It was not too long and just wide enough for 2 rows of rigs to park one row on each side of the access road.We stayed there for a week or so.
Sarasota is a beautiful place to vacation. Lots to do. I could maybe live there part year.
But the high rise condo buildings along the N shore are numerous and humongous. I wouldn't want to live there when they are all full.

As for San Antonio…did you ever eat at the Magic Time Machine restaurant? What a hoot that place was.
