If that were the case, why would that be a bad thing? But I also want to protect people from externalities they can't help.
We can't even trust the federal government to balance its own budget or guarantee the long-term fiscal viability of SS and Medicare.

We've seen how corporations can screw up their own pension funds. It's not even guaranteed that said corporations will exist in their current form when the workers retire.

There's no individual accountability. Meanwhile, "externalities" are going to happen outside of anyone's control, including that of government and corporations.

Everything you believe in is predicated on the notion that people can't be trusted to make their own good decisions.
