Gentlemen: Let's be realistic. CEO's resign or are fired all the time without a public airing of the dirty laundry (assuming there is any). When was the last time you saw a PR saying: "The CEO was fired because he just wasn't getting the job done"? I would prefer a company press release to announce the status of production lines or the announcement of contracts. This is much more pertinent to me than whether CR really retired to go sailing, or was fired because he doesn't get along with the board, or whatever.
