This is very strange since they use the US dollar in Panama.

That was an interesting article especially since I just returned from Panama. I did a cash withdrawal in person at a teller at the end of the day on 9/26 without any problems. The teller didn't say a word about not being able to access cash over the weekend thru 10/1. I've sent a query to a friend to see what's going on down there.
