I believe she is writing about the hypocritical approach of putting minority interests on pedestals. All of us our citizens and all of us have the same rights. In a free society there should be no special class of citizens like in an aristocracy.

OK, I agree we should not have an aristocracy. I can't imagine that the supposed aristocracy are putting the minorities on pedestal. Are the minorities putting themselves on pedestals. I wonder who would be paying for the PR.

The one obliterating this point is big government and unions. The Great Experiment started by Jefferson has all but failed.

Does big government do this with both Democratic and Republican presidents or just with one party in particular? Unions have been steadily losing members since 1955. Do you think that unions are becoming a bigger problem.

"The earth belongs to the living, not to the dead." Thomas Jefferson

I agree with this, but I don't understand how it relates this discussion.

"To compel a man to furnish funds for the propagation of ideas he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical." Thomas Jefferson

If I don't believe in democracy or I believe in freeing Jefferson's slaves, does that mean I don't have to pay taxes?

"We may consider each generation as a distinct nation, with a right, by the will of its majority, to bind themselves, but none to bind the succeeding generation, more than the inhabitants of another country." Thomas Jefferson

I agree in principle, but deficit spending has a long history, so generations and generations have ignored Jefferson on this.

I'm sure she had her own personal reasons to have anger issues against communists.

So, you think she was referring to communists as being the essence of evil?

She may have been referring to people like Immanuel Kant or Skinner.

If so, then I absolutely do not see the logical connection. What do either of these men have to do with our government?

How about Gibson Guitars as an example.

Fox News seems to have the scoop on this story. I could not find any newspapers reporting this story, not even the Nashville newspapers online. Google search turns up very little.

Or this pop and daughter operation.

Interesting, but overly staged for my tastes.

Solyndra made with your tax dollars and now gone up in smoke

I'll blame low cost solar panels from China for Solyndra's demise, along with other companies.

Obama bankrupting coal as part of his agenda.

Your clip lasts for 10 seconds, but here is more context for that statement with a 4 minute clip.

She was advocating a marketplace free of government controls.

OK, good luck with that.

If the phoney war on drugs were to be won an entire industry would go out of business, countless law enforcement, customs controls, lawyers and judges would be redundant not to mention the big business of constructing prison and detention facilities. The same goes for seat belts, once seat belt use was common they went after cell phones and now that most people are not drinking over the legal limit most jurisdictions are dropping the legal limit from .08 to .05. Crime pays big-time for the enforcers and I feel sorry for the ones footing the bill.

Yes, we lost the war on drugs. Yes, once seat belts started saving lives, the government wanted to save some more lives by banning some cell phone use while driving. In some states you can still talk on the phone while driving and holding the phone to your ear. What you do think would be a good legal limit for alcohol?

Government can declare itself God and by legislation force you to worship it.

Exactly how does that work in real life? I have never read, seen or heard of anyone who worships the government.

It can reward bad managers at the expense of good ones and in the process dilute the entire country's money supply.

Yeah, OK.

The crony capitalism of today has nothing to do with the type of Laissez-faire capitalism advocated by Ayn Rand and the way the country is being managed today has very little to do with the ideas of its wisest founder Thomas Jefferson.

O K. I think I see your positions on these issues.
