I also wasn't thrilled with Reagan's Shining City on the Hill imagery for America either. That's God's city, not man made.

I quit attending mainstream religious churches when i realized they were willingly swearing to obey the corporate regimes of the US gov't as well as preaching obedience to a murderous gov't. Something the first century Christians understood to be antichrist.
