I buy everything with my American Express that includes an additional free 1 year warranty (total 2 years). You may want to see what credit card you used and see if your card had the same offer. If your card does not, you can also buy squaretrade's warranty but you have to activate it I think within 1 week of purchase. You don't have to purchase the squaretrade warranty or the item from the same vendor (for example I purchased a TV from Amazon but got the squaretrade extended warranty from Costco because it was cheaper than Amazon's price, so it works no matter where you purchase things).
