I agree. I have many Democratic friends and I do have a lot of common ground with them on the Social issues of the day, as well as the Environmental concerns and our Oil and Coal dependency. However, when it comes to this widespread view that the Constitution is an irrelevant document and that Socialism and Communism is preferable to Capitalism, I just want to gag. It speaks volumes on how uneducated on world history and economics history the general population is in the US. It makes me even more of a supporter of spending more money on education in this country. With an uneducated population, we make very large mistakes in our economy. Without a vibrant economy, based on Capitalism, we become more like the losers in the Soviet Union we fought and won the war of ideas against. I'm staggered that the lessons of history are lost on so many Americans.
