"Bill Clinton negotiated with Newt Gingrich - but only after a lengthy shutdown. That's where we are headed."

That won't happen until Boner crawls into the oval office and offers to pass Manchin-Toomey and the jobs bill in exchange for a clean, one year CR. I hope Obama tells him to come back with a bigger concession.

- the key issue has become talking to one another vs ignoring one another.

What a crock..

Newt was not a foolish jackass making impossible demands

The situations are not comparable

One side is making ridiculous demands

..basically demanding that a popular settled law, that they disagree with, be revised in order to satisfy a small minority of the House, or they will destroy the US

...and the gutless SHOR, who has the votes to override their demands, simply refuses to allow a vote

This form of governance cannot be allowed to continue

We haven't put forth generations of casualties of war defending democratic governance and freedom to permit this type of tyranny
