"The only exemptions to the shutdown concern "emergencies involving the safety of human life or the protection of property," They need to get beyond that, except for the Secret Service. Shut down means shut down. If baggers get hurt, or if bagger property suffers the effects of non-protection, so be it. Baby's gotta burn his hand B4 he understands "Hot!!" What kind of shutdown is it when air traffic controllers show up for work? Let the private sector do the job. We may get to that when they refuse to raise the debt ceiling.
