Actually, taxpayers were fined for not buying from American car companies, as well as for not purchasing insurance from American insurance companies. In fact, every company that received an illegal fascist bailout, plus the others that received fascist government ownership, were the beneficiaries of highly illegal fines on U.S. taxpayers! Taxpayers were sent the bills for the incompetencies and failures of many corporate executives. Meanwhile, the same corporate executives, congress, and the central banksters laughed all the way to the bank! -nfg-

Excellent point, and the same could be said for most of the insane leftisms than we are subjected to at gunpoint. For example, if diversity and multiculturalism are supposedly good, why is it necessary to force citizens, literally at gunpoint, to participate in both? If Blacks are great workers and students, why are employers and colleges also forced at gunpoint to hire and enroll them? The leftists argue that such force is necessary because of racism and discrimination, but that doesn't fit what we see. For example, force doesn't seem to be required in the NFL, the NBA, and college football/basketball. Those leagues and institutions seem to be exempt from the affliction of racism. Most NFL team owners actively field teams composed almost entirely of Blacks on defense, yet their neighbors, who typically own a large corporations, doesn't want to hire Blacks and must be forced to at gunpoint to do so. Hmmmmm. What a selective pattern of racism/discrimination!

And, if anyone wants to see a perfect example of "Our Government in Action", may I suggest that you take a look at this gem: federalregister.gov If (after reading a few pages) your head has not exploded, you may be eligible for an Obamaphone. On a separate note: I recall several posters here were considering moving out of the country. May I strongly suggest before moving that they (or their Accountants) take a VERY CLOSE look at all current FATCA provisions and new ones to be implemented in 2014. These provisions are so onerous that many Americans who move overseas are now renouncing their US citizenship rather than surrendering much of their wealth due to FATCA regulations. Z
