Steve, that chart isn't a function; it isn't even a system of equations; there aren't any solutions and there aren't even any approximations. there's nothing linear about the chart but what you should do is look at the statistical failure of TA and not imply here that you have some predictive tool. In fact, your failure today is just another shovelful for the TA pile. It is possible to glean information about support levels and the like, but you are probably better off using a coin if you are trying to predict the price. Flip the coin and if it's heads, the price will go up.

BTW, do you not realize that companies with billions riding on the markets can afford state-of-the-art analytical resources yet statistically they aren't doing any better than the average dart board method of picking stocks. Again, it's simply not something you can predict based on a rather simple minded price/volume graph but that doesn't stop people from trying.
