Right now we don't really know all the circumstances. There will be a review of what happened, and I'm sure we will eventually know most of what happened. If excessive force was used I'm hopeful that will come out, but considering how tense everyone is, and how crazy this incident was, it sure does not seem excessive at the moment. Time will tell.
