I didn't say its a solution, its a logical action if his statement is actually true, but I think his statement is pretty silly.

That having been said it is a partial solution, in the sense that taking ridiculously expensive steps to try to rapidly decrease CO2 emissions will (if global warming is as big of problem as you and Hansen seem to think it is) likely leave us less able to deal with global warming. Assuming arguendo that its such a massive problem, we should take cost effective steps to deal with it, and try to reduce the emissions of CO2, but sudden massive steps will either fail, cost so much that we have less ability to deal with global warming (and other problems around the world), or both.
