I've got news for you bozos there is a hurricane brewing in the Gulf and is starting to threaten your home states. FEMA is scrambling to find ways to bring staff back from furlough. I wonder what happens if they don't. HAGO!

* In North Carolina, Rep. Walter Jones (R) has frequently drawn fire from the right, and now he's facing a primary challenger. Taylor Griffin, a former aide to president George W. Bush, declared his candidacy yesterday, complaining Jones isn't conservative enough (thanks to my colleague Anthony Terrell for the tip).

* And in Michigan, Rep. Kerry Bentivolio's (R) primary opponent, attorney David Trott (R), has already raised $425,000 in his bid to oust the strange reindeer herder. That's quite a bit for an unknown challenger who's never run before.
