Ah yes, Enbridge... the BP of pipeline operators... IOW, IMO, Enbridge is the worst pipeline operator in North America... if you look up accident/incident reports, I believe you will find Enbridge's name way more often than any other... bottom line, I believe Keystone pipeline is necessary, but if Enbridge is running it, they will need a LOT of oversight as they have a reputation for not doing recommended maintenance, etc. -- cutting corners... in fact, if Kinder Morgan or one of the better pipeline companies were taking the lead on Keystone, it would be a much easier sell... ask people in the business about Enbridge and their reputation for how they do business and you might agree with me that although we want/need Keystone, we may want someone else to take the lead instead of Enbridge.

...Calgary, Alberta-based Enbridge Energy is proposing the 612-mile Sandpiper pipeline to each day carry 225,000 barrels of oil to a hub in northern Minnesota and 375,000 barrels to one in northwestern Wisconsin. If approved by regulators, it would be the largest pipeline moving oil out of North Dakota, the nation's second-leading producer of oil behind Texas.

North Dakota has more than doubled its oil production in the past two years, closing in on a million barrels of oil a day. But due to the lack of pipeline capacity in the state, about 61 percent of the state's daily oil production is being shipped by rail...
