All of that socialism above was achieved by democracy.
You're right but the USA is a constitutional republic.

"The American system is not a democracy. It is a constitutional republic. A democracy, if you attach meaning to terms, is a system of unlimited majority rule . . . a form of collectivism, which denies individual rights . . . . The American system is a constitutionally limited republic, restricted to the protection of individual rights. In such a system, majority rule is applicable only to lesser details, such as the selection of certain personnel. But the majority has no say over the basic principles governing the government. It has no power to ask for or gain the infringement of individual rights."

Has anyone out there bought health insurance on the Obamacare marketplace? I would like to talk to you! Email Sarah.Kliff@washpost.com

...

As Twitchy reported, reporters have been desperately searching for the mythical creatures known as Obamacare purchasers. One journo at HuffPo was flummoxed by the very idea that some of the exchange websites might be, you know, lying about numbers. He was also befuddled by the fact that many Americans are receiving cancellation notices. Keep your plan? Ha! Totally kidding guys.

Other journos, however, have been searching for confirmation of the White House claims that people have bought through the exchanges. You know, the exchange websitesthat are error-riddled and full of constant glitches.

David Stockman Explains The Keynesian State-Wreck Ahead - Sundown In America

Submitted by Tyler Durden on 10/05/2013 - 18:38

David Stockman, author of The Great Deformation, summarizes the last quarter century thus: What has been growing is the wealth of the rich, the remit of the state, the girth of Wall Street, the debt burden of the people, the prosperity of the beltway and the sway of the three great branches of government - that is, the warfare state, the welfare state and the central bank...

What is flailing is the vast expanse of the Main Street economy where the great majority have experienced stagnant living standards, rising job insecurity, failure to accumulate material savings, rapidly approach old age and the certainty of a Hobbesian future where, inexorably, taxes will rise and social benefits will be cut...

He calls this condition "Sundown in America".
