Nobody in the private sector has any guarantees of job security. Situations arise all the time in the private sector where the employees are not at fault and they can still lose their job. Why should public employees be any different?

Private sector workers used to have job security. You assholes have taken and continue to take it away. The question is not why public employees should have it, it's why private ones shouldn't.

The hope, for all non-terrible people, is that we can put them back to work ASAP. So keeping them from leaving permanently is a good thing.

>The fact is, most government employees are non-essential ("essential" meaning that they fulfill the role of government as defined in the US Constitution). The absolute best outcome would be for all laid off government employees to go out there and get real jobs where they create wealth rather than destroy it, as they do in their current government jobs.

Thanks, Ms. Rand.
