And every country is different.
The USA is fundamentally from all of those European parlimentary countries you admire so much. The name of the country is the Unites States of America, not the United People of America. The US Senate is an extraordinarily powerful and undemocratic institution, created explicitly to give the states representation independent of their relative populations. It was created explicitly to avoid the type of "democracy" that you favor.

If you want majoritarian mob rule, please move to a country which has that.

With freedom, the people decide. I decided for me, and you decided for you.

Without freedom, someone forces their decision on someone else.

Which (like the post I'm responding to) is pretty much besides the point. Democracy doesn't equal a policy passed by democracy. They are totally different things. Criticizing some policy, does not amount to criticizing democracy.
