I think that those who prepare seriously for the Y2K problem are likely to have lots of cash and gold and non-perishable/canned foodstuffs on hand in their homes, or stashed/cached away close by, at least three to six months before January 1st 2000.

I believe that just before, during and after the Y2K Problem hit us, there likely will be a spate of burglaries and armed robberies. Therefore, it behoves us to be armed and to have our homes properly wired-up with anti-burglary devices/booby-traps. What an apocalypse scenario, eh?

Try and convince me that such precautions are unnecessary.

Wiseowl, I think Gary North is taking it to the max. You won't have to live in a cave and eat canned food till 2002. There are a miltitude of co. out there working on this now( maybe too many) and some who's share prices are dropping off. No doubt some co.s will get caught short but the world won't come to an end. Check out the report from JP Morgan I mentioned on post # 4073 for something closer to reality.
