It is hard for me to understand how the same people who constantly refer to CBO as a source for their positive outlooks on various legislation, like Obamacare, so easily discount CBO's comments when they're negative. I'd like to say it is ignorance but has much more the look and feel of hypocrisy. Elmendorf appeared before Congress a couple weeks ago and stated in no uncertain terms that our budget is "unsustainable", and went on to explain why. He listed four items. Medicare/Medicaid Social Security Obamacare Subsidies Interest on the debt. And he went on to explain why these items, and not others in the budget, are the problem. Yet, none of these fools were listening, apparently.
