Hi Franz :IBM or Motorola could help both themselves and AAPL

But unfortunately most of the indications from them range from a total lack of interest in AAPL to efforts to enhance AAPL's competitors .

Maybe its my paranoia but have you noticed the reporting on AAPL since its G3 roll-out has been increasingly "doom-laden" .

1st it was SF Chron , then NYTSN's "death of the PowerPC" , now reporting on AAPL's 10 K with confusing sales "news".

Even in a nicely titled NYTSN article "Legacy Mac makes a nice gift" you are encouraged to profit on AAPL's demise:

"...the original Mac should prove to be a nice collectible, especially if Apple Computer folds sometime in the near future. Then watch the value of your little $100 purchase soar. "

"Near future"... Somebody is greatly exaggerating the death of AAPL - ignore the name of NYTSN writer Bill Gates which appears on the left side column.
