How do they (healthy youth) respond to paying for Medicare and SS????

Most don't understand SS and Medicare unless they or someone close to them have had some reason to be a recipient in the past. In general they believe their contributions are going into a fund which they will benefit from in old age or in the event they become disabled, as it does currently for such people.

How did you respond???(as a young person)
Pretty much the same.
How do they (healthy young people) respond to any tax???

Most do not work and so view taxes as something other people should pay and more would be better so the government can take better care of everybody who receives free benefits.

Labor statistics Feb.2012: US Dept of Labor
Age 16-19
With Disability 89.6% unemployed
Without Disability 76.8% unemployed

In other words, they haven't gotten the bill yet. When they do, it is bound to have a big impact on their point of view. They will see what a screw job they got from guys like you.
