Brumar, you have a tendency to go to the extremes for who's on the left.

Wasn't Seeger pretty much a communist? I don't think he would be indicative of your average democrat at that time.

I think the best example of the "left" (or as you like to think....democrats) was Roosevelt.

I don't think Roosevelt was anti-war. If he had been I don't think he would have come up with the whole "lend-lease" thing for Britain.

Now, on the right at that time were folks like Charles Lindberg and that religious guy on the radio (can't think of his name).

Can you come up with some major republican politicians of that time that were PUSHING for war?
