......well...so far the only confidential information I've given them is an estimation of 2014 income. This is used to determine the subsidy you get. Apparently, NY checks this estimated income with past federal income as the subsidy was not approved immediately. It took a couple days to come back with a question asking if I believed my 2014 income would be very different than past income. I said yes as I put down a low income to see how much subsidy I could get. The next day it approved my subsidy although it seemed much lower than expected. I still have not decided what final income I will input although the subsidy definitely changes as I input different values. So far.....nothing about pre-existing conditions but of course, they already know I have one from my enrollment in the NY Bridge plan.. So..........depending on what plan I choose, I will pay approx $450- $650/month (with no subsidy, but with no deferred income either) This represents an approx 7% to 55% increase. For a plan very similar to what I had, it's about a 40% increase increase but I don't need to defer any income. So, even for me it's a definite increase relative to what I had. I will likely limit income (defer) and take an approx $200 subsidy. It looks FAR worse for young people with incomes over $45K............ Definite income redistribution....plain and simple
