Do you think its a good idea to cut spending or not?

Do you think its a good idea to remove the threat of default (Obama's ace up his sleeve) from the negotiations over spending or not?

They'd refuse to fund education and the EPA (especially the EPA). To some extent that probably wouldn't be too bad. I don't know WHY we need this giant bureaucracy for education when each state and city already have their own.

Sounds like you agree with Republicans on the merits, but still oppose Republicans for emotional reasons. We don't need a Department of Education and the EPA cleaned up America's air and water in the 1970's and is going for ridiculous overkill now ... shutting down relatively clean power sources.

But the idea of 200 plus Republicans getting to decide how EVERY penny is spent doesn't sound exactly like a true democracy...

The constitution says spending bills have to originate in the House and Republicans control the House. Sounds okay to me.
