I am not sure why you think America is in the process of self correction. It continues to display itself as a nation of vengeance by imposing the death penalty. The same folks who advocate the right to life when it comes to abortion are the ones who advocate the death penalty. They refuse to admit that if we cannot give life we should not collectively act to take life. Now we have folks holding the country hostage to force the compassionate to be mean. Where is it self correcting? This nonsense of shutting the Govt and refusing to raise the debt limit at a time when people don't have jobs has become a regular affair. This is going backward or shall we say digging ourselves into a deeper hole.
