I wouldn't worry too much about koan. My attempts to penetrate his brain are much the same as shooting a grizzly bear with a BB gun. He's wrapped his brain in so much insulating padding that there isn't much chance that anything that I say will encounter any random synapses.

I like him for that reason too. I view him like a spoof on liberalism ... sort of like a Portlandia character. Smarter liberals won't engage in the battle of ideas and cower behind moderation walls where they mutter to one another about how horrible conservatives are. Yet they are locked into exactly the same ideas and policies that koan pushes for emotional reasons.
