With winter coming I bought my first 40lb bag of bird seed. I am watching them all fatten up on my deck.

I don't feed them in the summer, only the winter and like to start early so they can get fat either to fly south or weather the winter if it is harsh.

The squirrels and the jays fight each other. I wasn't sure if jays ate seeds so I put out both seeds and bread, but I see one is eating seeds over the bread.
