Have you seen advertising in Europe? Did you ever see the Coppertone billboard ad for suntan lotion?

How about television shows? Broadcast TV? The U.S. Supreme Court ruled that a "wardrobe malfunction" was not cause for a fine or revocation of CBS's broadcast license, because it was inadvertent.

Are the objecting advertisers objecting to all of the above?

Re "...Our advertisers don't like it and will not advertise on our site if it has nudity on it...."
---- The value of SI, to members and to owners, is in the knowledge of the members. Members are willing to share with other members because the site is seen by members as being run for the good of the membership. Being run for the good of the membership builds value for SI. As soon as you start making content decisions to please advertisers, you are on the path to declining content value. Are you going to censor content which disparages a company which buys advertising? That would be the next step after letting advertisers determine content for another reason like nudity. You have already said you are willing to censor content which advertisers don't like. I don't think United Widget's Chairman Bluster will like my post pointing out bookkeeping disparities at UW. SI members will have seen you remove posts the fundamentalist Christian Chairman Bluster of UW objected to because they contained nudity. Members are unlikely after that to believe you would not be willing to remove me and my post about the bookkeeping flaws to please Chairman Bluster and keep his ad business. Your taking the position "We don't interfere with post content (unless the advertisers don't like it)" is not a good way to build SI value, in my opinion.
----- If SI is perceived by the members to be a place where free speech is unencumbered by any rules except basic civility, the value of SI to members is great and as a result the value to advertisers is great. If advertisers are allowed to dictate content directly or indirectly, the value of the site diminishes to members and to advertisers. If you set out make changes in order to create a site which will please advertisers, you will create a site which is seen by the membership as being untrustworthy because it panders to advertisers.
