First you need everyone to believe they are guilty of some unimaginable sin they will be tortured for eternity over. Not even a sin they committed and could have avoided but a human stain. Then you need to offer them grace only a particular brand of salvation "yours" will get them. From then on in countless generations will be hooked. Even if one or more come to the eventual realization it was just a put-on they will be too embarrassed except to stammer and shuffle their feet. The odd one that won't be an ass kisser can be arrested and put in jail on trumped up charges as an example of deviant behaviour. Islam worships the God ALLAH and Jews and Christians worship the God YAHWEH and all believe they are descended from Abraham. The early bible was full of Gods and Goddesses the early Jews expunged them and later the Catholics did their own editing on Jesus once their beliefs narrowed and their politics expanded.
