Conspiracies have been known to happen, Romans were very saavy & well versed in religions from observations all over their empire & from the Greeks before. They had over 3000 Temples of their own to sustain, burning frank incense in all of them which amounted to nearly 3000tons a year. All provided from the secretive Nabaeteans who were Arabians,btw. One does not even wonder how towards the end of the empire how crushing it must have been maintaining all those separate Temples. A monotheism /one God would eventually be a very expedient solution and unifying force. One other note how there's always fundamental connections to evolution in all this that is not whimsy. The population of Constantinople was about 50,000 when 21yr old Ottoman Sultan Mehmed II laid siege to it 1453 & the last of the Roman empire fell, now that city Istanbul is near 14mil, incerdible (just wow). Many immigrants & Greek and non-Greek intellectuals fled the city before and after that siege, with the majority of them migrating to Italy, which helped fuel the Renaissance. This effectively cutting off land trade routes to China/ asia now challenging the Europeans to seek sea routes, lighting the fires of naval technology & navigation sciences and leading them onto becoming the great sea powers.

Since you don't believe in overpopulation posing any problem, the comforting thought follows that 1 in 5 people in the world are Muslim now @ 7bil pop, by the time we reach 9Bil mid century that ratio will rise to 3 out of 5 people followers of Islam. That must be delightful prospect for you? Constantinople population 50k from the time of its fall 1450AD to an amazing 14mil today currently in Istanbul, pretty daunting numbers. But all is well with the rapture ahead right? Hardly, time to learn your prayers brother, buy a prayer matt, Allah awaits you. Or you can wake up & smell the coffee beans roasting, and Iran ready to go nuclear & possess that weaponry, not good news for the world.
