ed, oracle has great win NT prodcuts....oracle is a database.
the operating system is win NT or Unix.
oracle works on both.

Plus, most the smaller compnaies are waiting on dif. ERP's to be released next yr. before they select oracle database.
SAP and BAAN are too hard to implement. those are ERP's that work on oracle.

BUt, Informix got some of their share....
seq. server isn't going to compete with oracle but ignorance will buy it.

It was really ASIA that hurt oracle,,,112 mm shares traded..
do we have a record here

Ed, you said:

"

Do you know what the ORCL surprise means?

It means:
1) The UNIX based systems (hardware/software) is losing market.
2) It means NT is eating UNIX's lunch.

It also means tomorrow's surprise will be SUNW !!!! "

Sun sells Unix servers. So, exacly what do you mean and what has it to do w/CPQ?
