I sense the same thing looking at how fast we have grown in population and pollution in my lifetime and then using basic math to guess where it is going.

I also do not see humans facing simple reality fast enough.

And nothing has gotten better or looks to get better.

But I think we will survive in pockets of city states, barring a Permian extinction.
