Yes it is why they are threatening a downgrade. Tim, you are in massive denial. Read the Fitch press release: One of the country's three major credit rating agencies signaled Tuesday that it could downgrade the United States' rating, citing the impasse in Washington over raising the debt ceiling. The reality that needs to be dealt with is the run away entitlements, unfortunately many Republicans and most Democrats don't want to deal with it. Nope. Not the way Rs want to deal with it. The GOP is coming off as the party of loons.
