We've got a couple of Dawn Redwoods growing out back. Gorgeous trees. Fairly fast growing, and long lived.
However, they drop their leaves in winter. So they look like evergreens but they're not.
I planted these about 12 years ago. One is about 45 feet tall now and is just spectacular.
