Did i use a metaphor? Heaven forbid, should i have used the parable of oxygen & carbon and make it better for you instead? The fact remains we are able to see certain epochs going all the way back, phases of many important changes to the state of matter itself, right up to the great oxygenation event here on earth, that certainly altered the composition of oceans, ocean bottoms,atmosphere & geologies. Shall we tell the parable of the cyanobacteria & green algae that changed the face of the earth for good? en.wikipedia.org Metaphor is a wonderful thing, makes learning more pleasant & the thought experiments ring out more clearly to the minds eye and can signify truth in wonderous ways!
