Alan, A friend of mine gave me a book to read called "Hitler's Willing Executioners". I don't have it nearby but the gist of it is as follows: The mainline churches in Germany from the mid 1800's on grew increasing open in their anti-semitic behavor. it was quite blatant after 1900. There is no question that 99% of german christians remained silent or willing participated in the holocaust. Intersting note...the most accurate estimate for total numbers of deaths I've come across is 6 million Jews and 8 million others. I wonder how the decesdants of the other 8 million victims feel? I wonder that they are rarely mentioned. I suppose that Slavs are considered sub-human still by the mainstream historians/media. A sad commentary in any case. Another interesting note is that some historians make a strong case for the United States as being prior to the Germans in instituting genocide in the 20th century. Mental institutions used to routinely euthenase(sp) patients here in the U.S. at the turn of the century. It has been said that Germany patterned the early camps after the United States. It is certainly a fact that Ford and other industrialists and many Senators and Congressmen supported Germany right through the war! Our own government repaid our industrialists for damages to facoties that were U.S. owned in Germany during the war. These factories probably used "camp" labor. The U.S. canpoint fingers at no one. I only say that please do not call people that attend religious services Christians. Just as the name of God was profaned among the heathen by the actions of the false Jews(Jewish by blood, but not of the heart) in the Old Testament, so is the name of Christ profaned in the world today by false Christians.
