Brooks: you are undoubtedly right about purchases using a smart card. But if the consumer is using a software package to do home banking, bill presentment and bill payment through the CKFR platform, and they want to reload their smart card using the same software, it would be relatively simple for CKFR to check the consumerr's account for funds availability and then transfer the funds back to the consumer and refresh the smart card.

Remember, this is a future capability that might work out if everything fell into place the right way. There is an equally good chance that it never happens.
