Word from the Eds that the IDEs are shipping this week. I've been calling around to get a sense of SparQ sell-through; CompUSA and Fry's are totally out of stock, while sales are brisk at the mailorder guys such as CDW and Insight. I've been doing channel checks for the last month and this week seems like an inflection point; momentum and name recognition are starting to build for SyQuest. If anyone else has any channel info, I'd appreciate it if you could let me know.

Thanks Dale, your point is well taken, I think the external zip is just fine, its the internal one that is dated, that controller slot is better used by a more high capacity drive IMHO and data transfer to a bigger internal drive is easy. Change is all too rapid in this arena. Time will tell if the installed base of lesser technology will win out over speed and capacity. Of course this assumes the Sparq is a quality piece.
