Every article has good points and bad points. The trick is to read a lot so you can discern the patterns. That's what I do. However, if you are like tejek, then you will cherry pick the points you don't like and try to classify me with those points. That's your prerogative, but it is simple minded and not a great debating tactic.

But you also have to look at the history. Granted, I don't love some of the shit the NSA has been doing lately, but none of it is surprising, and it's been much, much worse in the past. Suspension of habeas corpus, yellow peril and red scares, COINTELPRO. Government will overstep its bounds sometimes, and we should say something when it does. But acting like any of this is new or more harmful, than say, dropping bombs on hundreds of thousands of people or taking food out of the mouths of kids isn't keeping things in perspective.
