It's probably true that doctors don't know much details about mitochondria ... but why did he ask a question about them? Why does he drop snippets of jargon that he doesn't know much about? Obviously, he's pathetically desperate that people believe him to be a doctor. He thinks doctors are smart and if he constantly boasts of being a doctor and drops weird anatomical terms to demonstrate his ... 'doctoricity' or 'doctortude' or whatever ... he must be smart too.

Why would a real doctor be so desperate to prove himself?
